Cat pumpkin DIY
I picked up a few of these cute plush pumpkins from Hobbycraft a few weeks ago and thought they would look great transformed into little cats so I did a spooky cat pumpkin DIY.
Let’s make some pumpkin cats
So, to make these Halloween cats you only need a few things and if you’re like me and my stash, you’ll probably have all you need already.
- Some of the Hobbycraft pumpkins (or similar)
- Pink and black felt
- Scissors
- Glue (I used superglue and I wouldn’t recommend it!)
- Googly eyes
How to make cat pumpkins
Step 1
Cut out the ears, nose and mouth from the felt and get your googly eyes ready.
If you’re making more than one pumpkin cat then use these as a template to cut the rest.
Step 2
Cut a little curve in each ear. You can work out the angle by holding each ear up in turn to the side of the pumpkin and cutting until they’re flush. I found they fitted best when placed in the ‘dip’.
Once you’re happy, stick them onto the pumpkin.
Step 3
Work out whereabouts you want the eyes to go. Now this isn’t as simple as it sounds! Take a minute to double check then once you’re happy, stick them down.
Your Halloween cat pumpkin is coming together now!
Last step 😻
Right so don’t laugh yeah! I cut the nose too big on this one and I got my fingers stuck to the superglue on the mouth so now I have fluffy fingers!
Buy yeah, these are pretty cute in an odd looking type of way though, right? I’m sure yours will look amazing 😻
