Toilet roll craft ideas – Cute floral cats
I had so much fun during Halloween making the toilet roll witch cats for my kids that I wanted to get going on some more. If you’re looking for some toilet roll craft ideas then these cute floral cats are an easy craft project to complete and the great thing is you can put your own spin on them depending on the season or your fave colour scheme.

What you’ll need for your floral cats
- Tubes
- Glue of your choice (I used PVA)
- Scissors
- Tissue paper or paint, if you like
- Pen
Let’s make some cute cats!
First off decide how many toilet roll cats you’re going to make. Each toilet roll tube will make two cats plus you’ll need an extra roll to make the flowers and one for the cat template.
Squash your toilet roll tube a little and cut it in half down the long edge.
If you’re using paint then paint away or if like me you’re going for tissue paper then cut your chosen colours leaving a little around the edge of the tube (we’ll cut this off later).
Stick the tissue paper on. I painted the glue onto the tubes and then smoothed the paper over the top. Once it’s fully covered, trim off the excess tissue paper from the edges. Don’t worry about getting it perfect here as we’re going to be tidying them up in a bit.
Once you’ve covered/painted your cats it’s time to make some flowers. Now, I’m shit at drawing flowers but you know what, I tried my best and I’m pretty happy with them!
Draw as many as you’d like and cover with the offcuts of your tissue paper if you still have it.
Now we just need to wait for everything to dry.
I dried my rolls on the radiator but if you’ve not switched yours on yet then they should take around half an hour’ish to dry. In the meantime, it’s time to draw the template for the cats. Cut a roll in half again and draw your cat template.
Cut out the cat and now you have a template to draw around on the back of the rest of the tubes.
Oooh, we’re nearly done!
Cut out all your toilet roll cats and flowers and then we’re almost ready to start decorating their cute little faces 😻
Feel free to copy my cats, design your own or find some online for inspiration. Add as much or as little detail as you like.
Now your clowder is ready it’s time to arrange them. Put them in the order you like best, I thought they looked pretty cool just in two lines. Then add the flowers and glue it all in place.
If you’ve got a spare picture frame hanging around you could even frame your masterpiece!
And there you go, all done 😻 I hope you enjoyed making this toilet roll craft project.
